 is a term with varying definitions that are similar in a way, but What is pop culture as we know it?.

Pop culture refers to a particular cultural product accepted by the people at a particular point in time. Simply put, a particular way of life or manner of livelihood generated by the people and not by imposition. What are these cultural products you might ask; they are visual arts, performing arts, heritage conservation, the media and others. 

Reading through, there is cause to wonder about the types of pop culture around us but not to worry, We'll be getting to that soon.

Origin of pop culture

Pop culture was said to be coined in the 19th century by people of low descents and poor educational backgrounds but nobody really knows the specific origin of pop culture. What we do know is the progress of pop culture, centuries after its supposed discovery.

According to sources, the industrial revolution that took place in the 18th and 19th centuries first widened the recognition of pop culture before its eventual global recognition after the end of the second world war. The aftermath sparked series of major social and cultural changes as a result of innovations in the mass media. Enough with the talk about history don’t you think?, I for one I’m tired…LOL.

Moving on, there are common and very much recognizable types of pop culture around us. Movies, T.V programmes, social media trends, animation, corporations, books and a host of many others.

Pop culture and its relation to Christianity

I know you might be wondering how pop culture relates to Christianity, but that’s why we are here to shed light on the matter.

Pop culture is very important to Christianity nowadays because it’s the bedrock  of evangelism in the world today. It’s all coming together now right?.

Through movies, taking into account what The Mount Zion studios are trying to achieve, the internet, cartoons, radio, music, and blogs like this one, we can share the love of God and the gospel of Christ and a whole lot more. All this while having fun as adolescents with great potential.

This is one discussion that most people failed to understand at the instance. This doesn’t seem to be the case now does It? I would hope not.
